Our Story

Our Story

Back in April 2021, Adolfo Davila Jr, a 28-year-old and our beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, friend, and a passionate wrestler was murdered. He was also the first-born of his mother, Mona Beltran Sanchez, and her pride and joy.

Amid our grief, something happened. People in our community flooded us with stories about Junior. We discovered so much more about him and his life. Junior was more giving than we ever knew. Those who knew him say Junior had a smile that would light up a room, an infectious personality that drew you in, along with a heart of gold. We have learned the extent of his kindness after he died.

Turning Our Grief Into Kindness Via A Nonprofit Foundation In Memory Of Junior

We learned that he was out in the community helping people.

Homeless people in the area have shared how, Junior would buy them meals and offer them anything he could to help. A veteran shared with us, Junior offered to build him a wheelchair ramp. So many friends have shared stories about how Junior came to their rescue when they needed him.

"A Mother's Grief, A Community's Strength: Spreading Love and Kindness"

To deal with the grief of her son’s death, and to keep his memory alive, Mona created the Blessings on Blessings football pools designed to spread kindness through random blessings, such as giving an athlete money to play a sport, giving to someone who is ill, giving to someone who lost their job, giving for a funeral, etc. The list is endless.

#LOVELIKEJUNIOR

We want Juniors legacy to live on.

Even though we will never be able to hug him or see him get married. Even though we will never be able to see him do things, we can continue to live on and make sure people know who he was. His generosity knew no boundaries. Everything he did, from his friends to his family to his community, he just wanted to give back. Junior had a lot of things going that he wanted to make happen and we just want to be able to continue that on in his honor. Really one of the biggest things is giving to the community whether it is clothes or being able to help the less fortunate out or the homeless anything like that because that is something he took pride in doing, especially in his community.

The Blessings on Blessings Foundation will stand as testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the power of transforming grief into hope.

Through the foundation, our family continues to honor the memory of our beloved Junior while making a meaningful impact on the lives of many.
